Back in the old Army the mess cook would heat to boiling a 5 gal can of water from the water wagon, toss in a gallon of coffee grounds. let it boil for a minute or two, cut the heat and pour a couple of cups of cold water on top to settle the grounds.
Tasted good, if you had slept in a snow covered mummy bag, laying in a hole all night. ....

Same on this side of the pond. Only with white sugary tea. Bloody lovely when you were freezing. Something to look forward to
