I've discovered that the secret to the french press is to stir frequently and wait for most of the crumbs to saturate and fall to the bottom. Then press s-l-o-o-o-o-o-w-l-y.
I grind the shit out of my french roasted beans with a blade grinder and yes, it sucks. Still, I've been universally complimented for my coffee skill.
