Cool! Where you getting your 5100? Post pics when you get it!
The AST 5100 is the same as ME Inverted. Mann Engineering helped AST designed that version of the shock. You can read more about their credentials here:

I actually decided to go with the inverted AST 5100s instead of the ME spec "4150".
Sounds like I will be in for a similar experience as you though. The high speed stability you are describing sounds insane!
