Ticks are the injectors. Chirps is the fuel pump. Nothing broken and perfectly normal. Boxer engines sound like old Russian farm tractors and that is just the way they are. You will hear all sorts of noises in these cars. Other cars make the exact same sounds but since they have better soundproofing you just don't notice. You will also get loads of noises from the drive train that you never hear in FWD cars so if not used to RWD they will seem strange.
If paranoid from sounds you are gonna have a hard time with this car.
