Actually his main reason for preferring the Miata (other than it being a convertible) was the car's light weight (about 450 lbs less than the twins), which for him made a significant difference in how it drove. He said the only other recent production car he'd driven with that same quality of lightness was the Alfa 4c, which weighs about the same as the Miata. He did prefer the BRZ's relative lack of roll in corners, but he favoured the Miata's "more balanced feel on the way into a corner". (See commentary starting at 18:18).
There is a price differential favoring the BRZ here - even with the PP added it's still cheaper than a Miata Club with Brembos and BBS by a few grand. Love to see a new H2H with a 2017 BRZ with the PP.
