If the car's mileage is real, it was stored correctly and the engine oil was changed once per year, why the age is not a good thing? The only thing he might need to change is a battery and tires.
I have friends that are racing cars that were stored for a long time (+6 years) and the track times are still the same. Performance-wise there is not a single difference!
