Actually, this seems to be a fairly common in the GT-86. Spun rod bearings all over the place. Look it up, you'll find reports everywhere. This just happened to me too, this weekend. Heading to the dealership now, after my engine stopped in the middle of the highway. I looked up problems and sure enough, once I came across a rod bearing failure video, it was the exact same problem. Every video or post I came across that had the exact same issue, it was the same spun rod bearing that caused it.

My car is completely stock with only 49K miles on it. Thankfully it's a lease, so it should all be covered, but this is ridiculous. There should have been a recall with so many experiencing this problem.
