I mean no disrespect as I am a new member but I feel that they are important. Yes they are designed for idiots but they are not at all for you or any other driver. They are so that when someone doesn't turn on there lights they can still see in a dark area. There are tones of them in B.C.
True a lot of them are idiots but they still drive at night with no lights on. they don't feel they need them. Now imagine a kids walks out in the road because they couldn't see a car in a dark suburban street, and they get hit. That is the whole idea behind them.
I do see your side as well my '89 MR2 doesn't have them and it is nice to choose if I have lights on but I am smart enough to know when to turn them on.
I don't judge those who take them out as they are the people with enough sense to turn them on. But I just felt that the DRL needed some deffending on this thread.
