I can get the above for about $7k (about $5k usd), but hopefully a bit less if I took the wheels and springs out of it. The factory stuff is very costly.

So basically, I guess I'm asking if I should go aftermarket with the body kit and/or gearshift stuff... and tower braces, and just buy a basic car. Is the aftermarket stuff the same quality? What do you guys run?

Well all the cosmetic stuff is purely subjective to taste so you are on your own there.
The only comment I would make on that list is that if the shifter they are talking about is the TRD short shift (or Subaru equivalent) I would shy away from it. There are a raft of issues with them mentioned throughout this forum. Of course there are others that love them and had no issues so...
