Over the years, I've been more than convinced that MPG has more to do with where you drive and how you drive. Right pedal goes down, MPG goes down.
Highway drive for 3 hours on cruise control, with some manual pedal work for the mountain passes: 36 MPG
Commute to work for 20 minutes with 40% highway: 24-27
Fun time? yeah it goes pretty low.
That doesn't mean I'm disappointed with the mileage. Ive had a civic that got 40, but it had 100 hp and a 1.7, but ive also had a Mini with a 1.6 and 170hp that got worse than the BRZ, couldn't get it above 25 MPG. Its all relative depending on what you've driven before. I for one am surprised at how well this car does for the amount of power it has with the engine configuration it has.
