I picked up my Lancer GTS and had left clear instructions with the dealer not to wash it so I would have a swirl free base to wax it. Got it home and did a really good wash using nothing but top grade fiber cloths. Started waxing and found two foot long scrapes almost through the clear coat on the passenger D pillar. Well I freaked and cursed those guys out while buffing out these marks. About halfway through I noticed there were two marks almost where I had just buffed.
Yep, don't clean your car with metal buttons on the cuff of your jacket.
