The good stuff has the dimple on the screw to indicate JIS, but you would never see this on cars because $$$.

Also, you can modify a Phillips screwdriver with some grinding to fit a JIS.

If you're gonna buy a JIS screwdriver, skip the ones at Amazon because the handles break and the rot from chemical exposure.

Higher end screwdrivers are a god send, it really does make a difference, more so than high end tools. Anything that has to fit on a thingy many times should not be bought cheaply. Hookers including.
