Also, to be fair, everyone likes to focus on the highest price. The $34k ND is the Launch Edition RF. It will "sell like hotcakes" because there are only 1000 of them being produced. The GT will be $32.6k and the Club $31.5k. And the ND is doing alright, but it's nowhere near setting sales records, so I wouldn't say this is proof of market demand.
It's also a powered retractable hardtop, with a nicer interior, and targeting an older demographic. That's a very different value proposition from an 86 with added horsepower.
