If you do purchase another transmission, I'd be willing to go through your trans for a very reasonable price to try and learn what is going wrong with 5th gear synchro. I plan to do this to my trans when I install our stronger straight cut gearset.

Ensure you're using quality fluid and that the shift gate to reverse isn't causing a slight misalignment.

Thanks,

Yeah I wanted to open it up when I build the trans! It's annoying that this car as so many problems after boost. Might need those gears sooner! haha

I ran Motul for about a week before I dumped it. I'm guessing that fluid is great in a hot climate, but up here it was atrocious. Now I'm on a mixture of two Redline fluids MT85 & 90. We went with the mixture after looking at the specs for the factory specs, and the Motul stuff. We were aiming for a low temp viscosity that was just a little less than factory, to help with the cold weather operation. I haven't had any troubles with shifting in anything from 5 degrees to 40.
Good to know! Yeah I might try another fluid this week and see how it goes. Hopefully it helps because I like my 5th gear on the freeway!
