If it's working properly, your shouldn't notice it, it should just work seemlessly. I've heard cars where it was obvious when it increased the volume, and it drove me crazy to the point I would turn it off and just do it myself.
On the other hand, if you notice that at speed that the music seems to be getting drowned out, it may not be working properly.
