The tail lights look too aftermarket than quirky Japanese, which is what I loved about the originals, just like how I don't care for Subaru putting the LED running lights in the headlight housing in their update, it loses it's uniquely Japanese style.

I am super happy they decided to use the 86 nameplate. However, is it just me, or did they go way overboard on putting 86 all over the car? Plus, I miss the old 86 boxer badge.

I still can't believe it doesn't come standard with a spoiler and fog lights now that it's a Toyota and they can charge more. I know there'll probably be an add on option, but I hope they do a GT86 package and bring it up to the level of a BRZ Limited.

Plus, Toyota has a long history of axing convertibles out of their planned lineup, they did the same thing with the Celica. Too bad knowing that the twins were built from the ground up as a convertible. (I still would've opted for the hardtop.)
Ummmmm the front bumper fits right in with the 17 toyotas. The whole line up is getting a drippy nosed, angry fish face with gills included.

There was a concept convertible but to say the car was designed as one is totally opposite to the story they told about going coupe instead if hatch for rigidity. They certainly didn't start with a convert when looking for rigid.
