Generally speaking, sit WAY closer to the wheel than you have been. I know, I'm scared of the air bag too, but your back is worth the risk... Get your ass BACK and in the seat. Sit on your sitz bones instead of your lower back! Keep your shoulders back and down (the frs seats hug you making this very difficult without something between your back and the seat).
