My 2015 FRS (bought new) is now just under two years old with 36,094 miles currently on the odo.
Can't recall how fast miles accumulated at the beginning.
I do recall hitting the rev limiter two or three times, the day after I bought the car (dirt roading in the Lost Coast). Break-in period...what's that ?
I've changed the oil every 7500 miles, rotated tires also, nothing more.
Zero problems with the car so far. Not even one thing wrong to take it back to the dealership for warranty repairs. Best car I've ever owned for sure.
Edit: 9-28-16. Car, now with 36k miles drives and runs better than it did new. Therefore, I suggest disregarding any break-in period manufacturer suggests. Just beat the piss out of the engine from the get go.
Certainly my next car will be made by Fuji Heavy Industries, and in Japan only. [Outback and Legacy are made in Indiana, also Impreza beginning 2017 model year].
Note:In May 2016, Fuji Heavy Industries announced that it would change its name to Subaru Corporation pending approval by its shareholders, with the change planned to go into effect in April 2017
