Yep, the first 1,000 miles can go pretty slow ..... took me a few days.
Even after 1,000 miles, if you have a MT, I suggest you set your shift light for about 6,000 RPMs. Why, because that is about where the highest HP and torque happens. Also, that setting will give you time to react before it hits the rev limiter.

Thanks for the tips Humfrz! Currently have it set at 4k, and have gotten it close to 5k a few times. I will have it set at 6k after the 1k miles as this is my first MT car. I will need the reaction time
