Preface: My wife and I have been together for 38 years, and it's been and still is wonderful. Having said that, the starry-eyed, newlywed, honeymoon-style constant-amazement-at-the-awesomeness-of-one's-spouse period has been over for quite some time, and we no longer feel the need to spontaneously compliment one another on most daily, weekly, or monthly accomplishments. Not a negative... just the result of a lifelong of mutually enjoyable familiarity.
The other day, we were driving home from a few enjoyable hours at our favorite local grub'n'pub establishment (GREAT burgers and service.. check out the Bull'n'Bear joint a mile or so from Carrier Circle if you're ever in the Syracuse area on Tuesday night.. best $4 you'll ever spend). I was driving, having passed on the beer that evening due to a round of antibiotics. Enjoyed a couple good pulls in second gear up to the highway speed limit, and some nice twisty navigation on the way home. After the second to last turn and pull back up to speed on our way home, my wife said, "Man, you really drive this car well!".. I looked over, and she had a big ol' grin on her face. I've been driving RWD manual cars for almost four decades, always thought I had a pretty good grasp of the concept, and taught her how to drive manual on one of our Fiat Spiders back in the 80s, but the FR-S has really been an inspiration to me to go a bit further, pay more attention to detail, and trust the car to do exactly what I ask it to do as long as the request is made competently. The fact that she noticed, well...
Thank you, ToyoBaru!
That is all..
