As painful as it may be to stare at that ding every day, I would just leave it alone. For me, fixing paint chips right away is important only for steel parts that may rust. Since the hood is aluminum, I would just wait until you collect a whole bunch of them before getting it fixed. Because, you know, that as soon as you get the chip fixed, you're going to get another one...
