Stock for stock, the new car should definitely win, because that's the whole point. They want to get people to buy the new cars.
Honestly though, when I saw that video, I thought it would've been interesting to have an independent race doing the same thing, but stick a modified zenki in the race and see how well (or poorly?) it can do.

That can be said for any car though. I am more interested in stock vs stock as a jump off point. Pitting a modified car up against the stock ones is a meaningless exercise. It is the age old cliche here that " Sure an X can beat the Twins but add tire/coilovers/E85/FI/etc/etc and..." . Sure that is all great but what could the car do without changing it? I could take a 1970 Pinto and turn it into the perfect track car if I threw enough mods and money at it. Reaches a point where calling it a Pinto is no longer reality though. Same applies to extensive mods to a Twin. You can reach a point where the result is so far from the stock performance that all you really have is a Twin shaped, custom car.
Oh, and there is zero reason that the latest and greatest version of this or any other car would automatically be presumed to be faster or better then previous versions. I have said several times that many great cars have been "improved" right out of their original purpose and abilities.
