Unlike most people I elected to not have it powder coated black as it wouldn't go with my color scheme. I painted it with Grimmspeed gold paint as I've done with all the other silver pieces in my car. I installed the side skirts in my garage with jack stands. The rear rubber mini mud flap needed to be adjusted a little (cut a slit in it) and I'm not able to use my OEM front mud flaps anymore. Install was fairly easy. Just need a drill with a 8mm socket, flat head screw driver and maybe a philips if you need to remove the front OEM mud flaps. I only had 1.25 cans of Grimmspeed gold paint left and I think I could have used 2 full cans as the paint doesn't look perfect. The side skirt itself is a solid piece and of a quality cut. If I designed it I probably would have rounded the front a little for a more progressive front edge, but that's just a minor thing so no big deal. Goes great with the rear diffuser I have which he also made (V1). All in all I would highly recommend this product over all the stick on plastic or fake carbon side skirts I've seen in person. Maybe he will have a type 2 version the is a little less aggressive, sticks out less, and is slightly more rounded in the front. That said I'd still keep my version 1 as I like a more aggressive look.
