They focused on producing a comfort car that can be used daily. If they focused too much on the weight reduction aspect, they would need to make specific compromises and raise the price even higher. Maybe you and me would buy it, but the majority of the car buyers are focusing on other things (e.g., 2-zone clima, heated seats, rear view cameras, high audio quality, gps navigation, noise reduction and so on ...)

I agree with DSOmegaX. I also installed a few parts that read making the biggest difference and the results are astonishing.
