Anyway, went to the dealership and they said they got a call from Toyota to "Good Will" the repair so it's getting fixed, just not under my extended warranty or my CPO. It's a bit of a bittersweet feeling but at least it's taken care of. If anyone else runs into this issue and is outside of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty I suggest following a similar route that I did.
