Brake Pedal Resistance (Stoptech Kit)

I've had the smaller ST40 kit on for about 4 months now and something that I notice that I never felt with the stock brakes is temporary pedal resistance.

It's not a constant and it seems to only happen when I get off the brakes and then back on them hard. I get this firm resistance feeling and the pedal won't depress. I typically notice this when braking in a straight line before coming into a turn.

Now when I feel it I let off the brakes and get back on it and the pedal depresses like normal and the pads bite but by then I've already slowed down quite a bit from when I initially started getting on the brakes.

Anyone have any ideas?
