If it is your first car I would also suggest a used car of some sort. Drive it for a few years and have all your mistakes in that car before getting a nice new car.

I had 5 accidents in the first car I owned. Fortunately it was all someone else's fault but lack of experience means I could not avoid them as I could now. From the insurance payouts I was able to put a downpayment on my first nicer car.
