can't be AWD using "Subaru's signature Symmetrical AWD system."
In this pic it shows the transmission relative to the front wheels pretty well. It is about 6-8 inches too far back to use their traditional system. (The front axles stick out of the forward part of the transmission, just behind the bell housing.)
