I wouldn't sell the car, and, before making my next comment, I'd like to be clear that I did read the part where you said you weren't a negligent or careless driver, so, just to be clear, I am NOT suggesting that you are at fault for any of the damage.

Now, having said that, the smaller and lower to the ground a car gets, the more I drive it like my bike. When I'm on my Honda, I drive with the assumption that EVERYONE on the road is attempting to kill me all of the time. Makes for kind of a nerve-wracking riding experience at first, but it keeps you alive and as safe as possible. I always park my bike so that there's the least amount of likelihood of someone backing into it or knocking it over. Likewise, I always park my FR-S away from other cars whenever possible, especially cars that show any evidence of kids being transported inside. Kids are typically thoughtless when opening or closing car doors.

I concur w/ one of the earlier posters.. it's possible your car saved your life; good think you weren't on your bike, eh? Drive and park like you're on your bike, and I think you'll find that your luck changes for the better.

Keep the shiny side up, baby.
