While a great idea in concept, you will find that any 911 or 912 you find is worth a lot more as a restoration project.

Even my lowly 914 is worth almost $30k restored properly.
Now if you were to restore one to 100% original, take out the engine and set it on a shelf, THEN get the FA20 to work with no serious modifications, this would likely be worth MORE than the full resto by itself.
That would give an owner the ability to drive the car without wearing the original engine.

I have seriously considered restoring VW buses and installing a modern suby power plant with all of the modern conveniences.
You can get upwards of $50k for one of those done correctly.
