It wouldn't be terrible to drill your own holes in the carbon. Just have to be careful and start small.

As long as you clean the burnt parts and make the surface uniform with the rest of the bumper, I'd say you'll be alright. I'd sand it till it was flat-ish again and then go along with the install per the manual. Dremel, orbital sander, hand sanding would all take care of this I believe.
