Those steps are not necessary - ECU reset after each flash.
If when you say "retune" you mean write/flash the same tune again (e.g. Stg 2 UEL), this is also probably not necessary. Its OK if you do it, but then drive the first 100+ miles smoothly in closed loop (no WOT) mode to help your car learn new fuel trims.

Logging your tune is the only way to tell if thing are OK. Read the posts linked in steve99 signature.

If you happen to have a Tactrix cable (or know someone who has one) and ECUflash/Romraider, you can pull the ROM and view the parameters. If this doesn't make a lot of sense to you, then simply flash and log with OFT.
