Coilovers. Being an MY15 it already had revised dampers over the 13 and 14’s. I still wanted to improve the ride, but was also hesitant (as some have already mentioned) the handling out of the box is pretty solid. That and people generally only went for coilovers specifically for lowering and or track work rather than for improving ride. Being a daily driver I was not interested in dropping the ride much if at all.
I then started reading about Tein Flex Z’s and peoples positive experiences with them being not only affordable, but having great ride and adjustability. On reading up further I learned of some funky system they offer called EDFC. The top Pro model effectively introduces active damping.

Using napkin math I came to the conclusion that with the money saved from not having to go for a far more expensive suspension I could roll that difference into the EDFC system instead.
I’ve pulled the trigger on a set of Tein Flex Z’s and EDFC Active Pro with GPS module. The AU distributor has never heard of the top kit being fitted to a Twin, which makes me all warm and fuzzy. So here I am waiting for it all to arrive on the slow ship from Japan, four weeks and counting, but not in a rush.
Reminds me of that saying, anything worth doing is worth doing to excess!
