If your dealer gives you wrong info, either have them fix it under warranty or take it to another dealer willing to get paid for guaranteed work. It's basically free money for everyone paid by corporate.

Afaik dealers are not allowed to choose to honor a manufacturer's warranty. If that were the case the warranty would be worthless. Call Toyota of USA to complain and report the dealer to whatever fraud department CA has.
