Because I'm an Industrial Designer and brushed aluminum has a nice contrast against the black molded parts.  Really though, I am working on insulating the lid as we speak. Even if it were not insulated, the surface area of the lid is a small percentage of the overall surface area of the complete system. Very little heat, if any, will radiate off the lid and make it into the throttle body. |
I do agree contrast looks good. I like this design alot and I look forward to the finalized production version.
