There's lots of things I consider a waste of money (a big ass diamond ring, or aero mods on a Civic, for example) but if they make you happy, its well spent money as long as it isn't mine.

My second choice when I bought the FR-S was a 2012 Camaro ZL1. If the Camaro had been the 2017 current model, I would have probably purchased it, or if the 2016 'Vette was available then, it would have been a top contender.

I could afford any of the 3, but the FR-S was fast enough, fun enough, and made me smile enough that the price differential wasn't worth the extra expense (particularly since I pay cash for cars, that changes your tune quickly). I would never have tracked any of the three (I've done my track time, not my thing anymore) but I would have enjoyed them equally.
true but most people that bought this car because of it's handling performance (something a Chevy Spark wouldn't give us) and it's more affordable compared to other similar cars 370Z, Genesis, etc..I think it has plenty of power to have fun with on public roads. I came from a 370Z and this car is just as fun to drive for me...maybe a little more fun actually even though I went down in horsepower and torque from a V6
