The simple fact is, despite what the racer-bois say, the FR-S/BRZ IS a fast car, and the output of the FA20 is dang impressive, given it's small displacement and the overall weight of the car.

Put into perspective, the 0-60 & quarter-mile acceleration of my 2013 FR-S is almost identical to that of the 1994 4th-gen Z28 I once owned, despite that car's very torquey 5.7-liter LT-1. That too was a fast car, and no one ever complained that it was underpowered.

And unlike the Z28, the FR-S can carry it's speed through the corners with little concern of plowing off the road or swapping ends.
