Get off I5 at Longview WA and go out to Astoria OR.
Oregon coast is worth the effort. WA coast not so much. You're away from it mostly.
Cut across from SD and take 74 down the hill into Palm Desert.
Or the Angeles Crest Hwy (2). This more.
