Ultramaroon I was thinking maybe some rubberized piece that held to the bottom of the door and wedged to the ground.
I had to load a commercial steam cleaner in through the passenger side a couple weeks ago. It was impossible facing uphill, I had to turn the car around to face downhill so I could load it in.
