Can't really compare it to the AE86 (GT-S especially) in the U.S. market. The GT-S' sold in relatively fewer numbers compared to the SR-5, had only a 3 year run, and an extremely small enthusiast crowd before Initial D / Drifting blew up in the early 2000's. By then many were already crushed, beaten to death, or abandoned in fields by the 5th owner, etc.
The hard to find and own factor is part of the AE86s allure. I don't see the twins being that hard to come by even in 20 years. Id compare it more to the 240sx in that regard, which includes finding stock examples being a bitch.
