The TRD North American option 18" wheels for the FR-S are staggered, and this is claimed (at least by my Toyota dealer) to be required for clearance reasons up front.
I confirmed that this is the "official company line" with a friend in the business. Whether Toyota is right, or some on the forum are right, the only way to get the TRD 18" wheel package from Toyota on a new FR-S (and therefore, financed and warrantied as part of the total purchase) is in a staggered configuration.
