Read the specs on the stock tire, they are right around 24.7 diameter, on a 7inch width rim. .5 inch is about 13mm wider, 10mm wider tire sounds logical doesn't it? Read the spec's on the 215/40 you are looking at.
My advice would be to get 225/40-18 which is right around 25inches. 1-2% wont make a noticeable difference, and that extra meat is good for grip and comfort(sidewall height). And it would also give you a little more rim protection from the tire. 225/40. DO IT. Trust. 215/40's look like rubber bands.
