Are you mixing up Labour day and the Civic Holiday?
Labour day is not until the first weekend of September (3rd, 4th, and 5th)...Civic Holiday falls on the last weekend of July, with August 1st (Monday) being the holiday, but it's not a stat holiday.
Just wanted to help avoid confusion.
