@Apoc - Seems the rubber from my tire knocked the wheel well open (mud guard is now gone, I didn't see it come off though). It was still attached and plugged in, but the "glue" (that black rubber foam glue) came loose, and this box was just hanging by its wires. I say most of the wires were broken so I snipped the remaining ones off (it wouldn't have worked anyway).

@Mr Nerd - It does kinda look like a fuse box, but I opened it up, see pics attached.

@Tcoat - It was definitely still wired to the car, I traced it back to the electronic connections below the air filter (pics attached too). If it's not something I need, you can by all means have it. In fact, I'll deliver it in person (if you pay for my flight to Canada). That's just the nice guy that I am Sounds like an interesting project you're working on though

@humfrz - it's about 75mm x 65mm x 30mm (3" x 2.5" x 1 1/4", for my US friends)

I had the guts to open it (since it's already broken, why not...). It reads Conlog, tried googling but didn't find anything useful....

So the pics are of (I hope I label them in the same order as they appear):
1: Circuit board
2: Connection below air filter
3: Pic from inside the wheel well (not a great pic, but not easy to take a pic there)
4: Another pic of the connection below air filter
5: Mystery box on its side

Thanks everyone for the help!
