I can't get over the feeling that there is some vital info missing someplace here. there are just to many conflicting comments to make sense and there must be something that ties them all together.

Jordon needs to get this to one place and let one person work on it to try to get to the bottom of things. This whole process has been a clusterfuck right from the start.
Well my idea now @Tcoat is to file a mechanical breakdown claim through Geico. I believe they let you choose where to take it. I will have to send it to a Subaru dealer if for nothing else than programming with the proprietary Subaru software. Also though, if I get it fixed through a Subaru Dealer they will have on my service history that the car was returned to oem/factory requirements. My hopes though is I can get this done for my $250 deductible as opposed to $1100 from Subaru. With my luck though, Subaru will tell Geico it was my fault and Geico will deny it.
