Yeah mine was parked in front of my house.
They quoted about $3,000 for me as well with all OEM parts.
Can you tell any paint difference?

Make no mistake, it shouldn't matter if you are parked sideways across two lanes of traffic, he shouldn't have run into you. Likewise, even if you were too far out he's still at fault since he was moving and you were parked.

I mean I was parked legally and not even pushing it so not sure I agree with your sentiment. My tires were partially in the little 'shoulder' in front of the curb and off of the road asphalt.
But yeah I don't think it would have mattered if I was parked directly in the middle of the street. I was just honestly surprised when he - a 50+ year old working man - started trying to deflect instead of just take responsibility.
He turned my tires (my steering wheel did a near 360) so I'm just hoping no complications from that. :<
