That's the beauty of a compound boost setup. You can use those big laggy turbos but still have the low end power and torque, you just sacrifice some top end power.
Actually I hate saying that because really you aren't sacrificing top end power. You just don't have the top end power that the same sized turbo used alone will net you. IOW, you have to use a larger turbo to get the same top end power.
