Well, it's early Saturday evening here, sunny and about 75 degrees. A beautiful evening for a causal ride through the countryside in our FR-S.
So, mrs humfrz and I were cruising along this windy road, in spots. country road, when this jerk in a BIG red pick-up truck comes roaring up behind us and proceeds to tailgate us ..... really quite close.
My first instinct was to hammer down and watch the fool try to keep it on the road in the next set of curves ...... however, since mrs humfrz was with me, I just kept on cruising at about 35 MPH.
The jerk kept tailgating me so, the next straight stretch, I slowed down, moved off onto the side of the road and waived the ass-hole around. The jerk wouldn't pass and kept tailgating me.
I eased my hand into that pouch behind the passenger seat to make sure my ol .45 was still there, just in case.
The road came to a stop at a light, where there were two lanes, one to go straight, one to turn left. We were in the straight lane when the big red pickup truck slid up beside us and this woman driver YELLED out through her passenger side window "the speed limit on this road is 45 mph, you old fool, why don't you go at least the speed limit"??
Before I could speak, mrs humfrz, with her stainless steel tongue, yelled back "oh thank you SO MUCH for letting us know that" - with a big smile. I picked up and said "yes, thank you, that is good to know" - with a big smile.
The woman threw up her hand, peeled around the corner and sped off.
Am I getting old? Am I getting soft? What would you have done .... ??
