If you are looking to shave a100th of a second off your drag time it is indeed a big deal.
If you are tracking heavy it may me a minor inconvenience.
If you are rapidly rowing through the gears to merge with traffic you may barely notice it for about a 10th of a second.
If you are driving at normal speeds in the city you will never know it exists.

Think about it. It occurs for a brief period at certain revs in each gear. The 0 to 60 is 7.5 seconds. Just how long do you think you are in that one rev zone? Ya it looks nasty on a graph but that is not the reality many of us have observed.
