I don't think you'll have a problem. I don't have first hand experience with the FR-S on a U-Haul trailer, but we do regularly tow my friend's C6 Corvette on one of those trailers. It does touch that lower black plastic piece that hangs off the bumper, but it doesn't come close to the actual bumper (painted portion) itself. Hope that helps.
